BECOME A SPONSOR!

Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission of providing a free, family-oriented festival that focuses on education the public about the importance of the honeybee!

Help keep our festival FREE to visitors!

What IS Honeyfest?

It's All Things Honey - from bee beards, educational sessions, and a bee train to food trucks and hands-on honey extraction...and more!  Enter the Carmen Conrad Memorial Honey Conest, Honey Bake-Off and Photo Contest. Buzz over to the food courts for scrumptious honey-made food, and sample mead at the wine tasting at Wagnalls Memorial Library. While you're there, enjoy a treat from the Honey Bake-Off sale or take advantage of their book sale before you check out the fantastic live music in the park, shop with nearly 100 vendors to find some of Ohio's best arts & crafts, and let us help your children create bee memorabilia at the Gilmore Group/Red 1 Realtors Busy Beehive. Relax while your kiddos take a ride on the Bee Train, and enjoy the free, air-conditioned transportation to our free parking lots when your day is over. The festival is the Friday and Saturday after Labor Day.   Lithopolis Honeyfest is a member of OFEA (Ohio Festivals and Events Association) so we can enthusiastically seek ways to ensure we are continuously recognized by the Secretary of State as a compliant festival with public safety in mind.   Pet-friendly, kid-friendly, and completely ADA-accessible, Lithopolis Honeyfest is like a beehive: lots of amazing things happening in a structured environment where our main focus is making your experience SWEET!

Those Marvelous Bees!

Because they are so small, bees are often overlooked, even though the impact of bees on our planet is astronomical! According to Medical News Today, Around 75% of crops produce better yields if animals help them pollinate. Of all animals, bees are the most dominant pollinators of wild and crop plants. They visit over 90% of the world’s top 107 crops.Scientists say that without bees, there will be no more nuts, coffee, cocoa, tomatoes, apples, or almonds, to name a few crops. This could lead to nutritional deficiencies in the human diet, as these products are essential sources of vital nutrients.

Additionally, the medicinal properties of bee venom and other bee products may never be accessible without bees to provide them.
